- Geography Cares- We hope you all had a sweet holiday and have built up a restful reserve for the year ahead.
- Just in case it was a bit too sweet and you would like to share your holiday bounty for a good cause, the Geography Cares Committee is setting up a collection box for candies in the Main Office and in the Undergraduate Lounge.
- The candies will be donated to the Agape Street Ministry, which packages them for hand-delivery to the women who walk the streets of downtown eastside Vancouver and Whalley/Guildford in Surrey, along with hugs and a few kind words, as a reminder that they are not forgotten by the rest of us. Agape also runs recovery houses for women suffering from addiction. The collection boxes will remain in place until January 31st. Wrapped candies, chocolate bars, as well as boxes of chocolates are all welcome, even those from Halloween. Sorry, no baked goods or perishable items for safe handling reasons.
